LIZA

How can we ensure the continued relevance of porcelain in contemporary design?
Porcelain, an incredibly resourceful and captivating material, offers numerous benefits for designers. However, the future of many porcelain factories is at risk due to the costly and complex production process, coupled with the outdated perception associated with this material.
Through the collaboration with Rudolf Kämmer, this project aimed to generate new ideas for the modernization of this century-old manufactory.

The series of customizable “light objects” LIZA includes lamps, tea lights, candle holders or even essential oil diffusers. To echo the topic of "heritage", all the pieces are made up of elements from Kämmer’s catalog of historical flagship objects, which are no longer marketed because they are perceived as outdated. These elements were modified to enable them to be easily combined, thus creating a modular series and even multifunctional objects.
