ALL THE WOOD

Beyond typical applications such as room soundproofing or wall/ceiling claddings, sub-wood composites bonded with vegetal binders not only fulfill criteria for reduced toxicity and enhanced sustainability but also present a promising alternative for crafting biodegradable short-life cycle furniture. This innovative solution addresses challenges posed by 'fast furniture' in the design industry, making it ideal for users wishing quick change, pop-up stores or temporary showrooms.

New potentials for forestry by-products and wastes.
Our insatiable demand for wood continues to drive rapid deforestation, resulting in approximately 50% of harvested trees being relegated to waste after processing into products considered as more valuable.
This project delved into experiments with natural plant-based binders, aiming to unlock fresh possibilities for wood by-products in the field of Design. Despite their potential, these by-products often struggle to find meaningful and sustainable applications in our living spaces.

How the use of more biodegradable composites can prompt a shift of our industrial practices to align with modern sustainability and lifestyle?
